History of World War II - Europe Invaded DVD

History of World War II - Europe Invaded DVD

Witness how the ambitions of one power-hungry man - Adolf Hitler - changed the course of world history forever! From his unprovoked invasion of Holland to his brilliant tactical invasion of France, this DVD provides an in-depth view of how Hitler planned to bring Europe and the rest of the world under the Nazi flag!

Three events helped usher in World War Two: Japan’s overrunning of Manchuria; Italy’s, invasion of Ethiopia; and - most important -- Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in Germany. Hitler soon began to threaten other European nations and started the war in a bid to conquer the continent of Europe and envisioned enslaving the rest of the world in due course of time as well.

The outbreak of war in Europe, with the German Blitzkrieg [lightning war] invasion of Poland in September 1939, led to Great Britain and France declaring a war on Germany. The German Blitzkrieg into Poland was, however, soon followed by the Sitzkrieg "phony war" during the winter of 1939-1940. During this war, Germany rapidly rearmed, adding a million new soldiers, vastly increasing its ammunition stockpile, and tripling the number of medium and heavy tanks. As the Sitzkrieg gained momentum, Germany announced a blockade of Britain.

The Blitzkrieg was renewed in April 1940, when Germany invaded Denmark and Norway. The tactical superiority of the Germans was evident throughout the first few months of the war. Hitler’s massive propaganda machine, based on a series of well-camouflaged lies was successful in hoodwinking the Scandinavian neighbors into complacency.

This DVD deals with Hitler’s ambitious forays into defenseless Denmark, Norway and Belgium, and the retaliatory action of the British and French forces, in an insightful manner.

Divide and Conquer
This historic film describes vividly, through graphic pictures and a fascinating narration Germany’s unprovoked and unannounced attack on her neighbors - defenseless Denmark, Norway and Belgium, unprepared Holland and complacent France, in an attempt to conquer the world. The live footage of the battle of Norway between crack German troops and the determined English Army and Navy are stunning, as are scenes of stranded English soldiers being rescued at Dunkirk. Hitler is portrayed as a wily and ambitious tyrant who made clever use of propaganda to achieve his objectives.

EDITORIAL REVIEW:

This amazing DVD provides an extraordinary insight into the causes of the bloodiest war the world has ever witnessed - World War II - through graphic scale drawings and fascinating live shots of action during some of the most historic WW II battles.

The clips in this DVD provide a rare glimpse into Adolf Hitler’s nature. Despite being a brilliant man, Hitler sadly allowed twisted thoughts and hunger for power to bring about his own downfall. His brilliance as a tactician and the immense power he wielded in Germany are portrayed in a telling manner in the clips bearing an account of his war on France. His propaganda machine, which remained unmatched through the war, is also examined at close quarters and speak of his exceptional understanding of human psyche.

Although these films present an American perspective of the war, due credit is given to Hitler’s brilliant tactics, which helped him overrun several European countries before the world woke up fully to his evil ambitions. While these tactics do not find support from the producers, they remain a testimony to Hitler’s well-planed aggression nonetheless.

All in all, this is a rare and historic DVD, which provides a wonderful backdrop to the beginnings of the war and the tactical brilliance of generals on both sides. I am certain it will furnish any student of the subject with hours of visual, first-hand information on the many battles that were fought both in the boardrooms and on the battlefields.

CUSTOMER'S REVIEWS:

"This DVD explained to me the causes of World War II in a vivid and easy to understand manner. The strategies that Germany employed at the beginning were startling and amazingly devious. The use of false information and propaganda by Hitler to mislead nations is retold in a simplistic and captivating manner. This DVD will definitely add to the knowledge of those seeking to understand the undercurrents of the Great War."

"Here is another amazing historic DVD from the creative team of researchers at a2zcds.com. As always, the clips are not only relevant, but also amazing in their content and depth. It (the DVD) explains how the war progressed from small tactical mind-battles to full-scale war that held the entire world in a state of panic for several years, and I think it is a must have for all libraries and collectors of historic DVDs."
